USWNT closes out January camp with 5-0 win against New Zealand
Midfielder Rose Lavelle recorded two goals and an assist

The USWNT earned its second win in as many games Saturday against New Zealand, taking down the home team 5-0 at Eden Park in Auckland.
A brace and an assist from midfielder Rose Lavelle, who captained the team after striker Alex Morgan was sidelined due to lower leg tightness during pre-game warmups, led the way.
Strikers Ashley Hatch and Mallory Swanson as well as midfielder Taylor Kornieck also added goals.
The 12,721 fans in attendance was the largest crowd to ever to watch New Zealand’s women’s team.

Eden Park will serve as the USWNT’s venue for the first and third Group E matches at this summer’s Women’s World Cup.
The win comes on the heels of the U.S’s 4-0 victory on Jan. 18 against New Zealand, who will co-host the Women’s World Cup along with Australia.
The U.S. will come together again next month for the eighth annual SheBelieves Cup. This year’s tournament, which will run from Feb. 16 to 22, features Brazil, Canada and Japan.
