Why you should donate to Planet Soccer
The time has come for a paywall in order to deliver more quality content
Dear reader,
It has been 10 months since I launched Planet Soccer. I hope you have enjoyed getting my newsletter every Monday as well as the other features and opinion pieces published on this platform.
Over the course of the year, I have been able to cover the soap opera involving USMNT manager Gregg Berhalter, Napoli’s first Serie A title in 33 years and Lionel Messi’s decision to play in MLS.
The time has come, however, to create a paywall so that I can keep delivering quality content to you. Starting on Nov. 1, Planet Soccer will install a paywall.
Why pay for content? There are many reasons. The digital age has disrupted traditional revenue models for journalism, posing challenges to the sustainability of news organizations around the world. Paying for journalism helps ensure the viability of news organizations and supports the livelihood of journalists.
Quality journalism plays a crucial role in providing accurate and reliable information to the public. Journalists gather facts and verify information before presenting it to an audience. Paying for journalism ensures that reporters, like myself, have the necessary resources and time to travel, conduct research, report on stories and conduct interviews. The result is high-quality journalism.
By subscribing to this Substack channel, you are paying for journalism directly and helping me create content. Only “Soccer Monday” will remain free. Everything else will be available by paying for it.
Please enjoy, like, share and subscribe! Hope to see you on the other side of the paywall.
Sincerely,
Clemente Lisi
